Free Scantrons and bluebooks

Starting Dec. 5, ASG will make Scantrons and blue books available to students for free. On Nov. 16, a bill allowing students to receive the testing materials for no charge passed through ASG and will remain in effect until the end of finals week.

“We wanted to make it easier for students to get Scantrons,” ASG President Justin Kawcak said. “It’ll definitely start as a finals giveaway type thing, and if we have some left over for next semester, we’ll continue with it.”

The funding for the materials come from the Student Control Reserve Fund, according to the bill, which consists of student fees.

“It’s basically students giving back to students,” ASG Senate Leader Telbe Storbeck said. “ASG is just allocating it.”

Students can get Scantrons and blue books at the ASG office, on the second level of the University Center, starting Dec. 5.

“It’s a great way for us to meet more students and have a sort of personal exchange,” Kawcak said.

ASG hopes to make this a more regular service, Kawcak said.
