Five students hospitalized, taken to Community for alcohol poisoning

The foam party Thursday night ended with five students, one male and four females, being transported to Community Hospital for drunkenness.

All of the students recovered and were released later.

Community Hospital did not say whether the students were tested for substances other than alcohol.

To prevent this from happening again, Grand Junction Police Officer Travis Wright wants students to be aware of the risks.

“We want to interject a safety message to the students. You don’t know what’s in the contents of what people hand you,” Wright said.

He believes that by acting with caution, “all of it was completely preventable.”
