The CMU chapter of the Society of Physics Students has been awarded its 6th Outstanding Chapter award from the organization’s national office, “a designation given to fewer than 10 percent of all SPS chapters at universities in the United States,” according to a press release.

The club, which showed recent success during the Hunger Games week competitions and hosted a pumpkin drop during Halloween festivities at CMU, was evaluated on its interactions with the public, national programs and the professional physics community.
