Pablo Correa Gutiérrez, a native of Almería, Spain, is a foreign exchange student studying business management at CMU. He talks with the Crite about the Colorado cold, American girls and food preferences.

First of all, pulp or no pulp? Crunchy or creamy peanut butter? Coffee or tea? Hamburgers or hot dogs?

No pulp, crunchy, coffee and tea, hamburgers.

What do you want to do with your degree?

Actually, I have another degree that I got in Spain in engineering and agriculture. I hope to find a job that kind of combines these things, like a manager in that type of company.

Why did you choose to go to CMU out of all the other schools?

I’m glad to be here in Colorado because nobody speaks Spanish, so I can learn proper English. I’ve been already in New York. People seem to be busy all the time, running a lot in the streets. Here you see people are really nice and more calmed down. It’s not a big city, but it’s cool, and it has many good outdoor programs.

Was it difficult getting accustomed to how cold it is here?

Yes, it’s incredible from one part to another in this country. I just drove here from California [last week], and after that, it’s like from summer to winter in the same country. Even before California, I was in New York, and it’s even colder than here. It was amazing. The change was incredible. I just put on a bigger coat and that’s it, and it works.

What do you think about American girls?

I love American girls. They are blast, especially those that have traveled and have the same mentality than me. However, European girls are more emotional, so relationships are different I guess. In Europe, girls don’t have kids until 30 in general.
